How to use SignalLens.

SignalLens measures AI search visibility across OpenAI, Gemini and Perplexity. This guide explains the full workflow—from account setup to reading mentions, official citations and provider errors.

Quick start: run your first audit

Create an account

Open the free-trial page, enter your name, email and password, then submit the form. No credit card is required for the first live mini-audit.

Verify your email

Open the verification email and select the verification button. The link expires after 30 minutes. If it does not arrive, check spam or promotions and request a new link.

Enter the brand and official domain

Use the exact public brand name and the official website domain. For example, use “Notion” and “notion.so”, not a social profile or marketplace listing.

Run the live AI visibility audit

SignalLens asks three commercially relevant questions across OpenAI, Gemini and Perplexity. The first audit performs nine provider checks in total.

Review the evidence

Start with the question-level answers. Then compare mention rate, official citation rate, provider scores and any failed calls.

How to read an AI visibility result

Brand mention

The usable AI answer names the target brand. A mention does not automatically mean the brand is recommended or cited.

Official citation

The answer cites the target brand’s official domain. This is a stronger signal that first-party content is being used as evidence.

Position

When the answer contains a ranked or recommended list, position shows where the brand appears.

Visibility score

A standardized summary of mentions, citations, positions and question coverage. It is not an official score from OpenAI, Google, Perplexity or any other AI platform.

Read the evidence before the score

A score can help compare audits over time, but the most useful information is usually the exact question where your brand is missing, mentioned without an official citation, or outranked by a competitor.

Private admin workflow

  1. Confirm the Providers page shows a live API connection and available database storage.
  2. Choose New audit, then enter a real brand name and official domain.
  3. Add one benchmark question per line, or leave the field blank to create three brand-specific questions.
  4. Open Audits to review real database records. The admin area no longer displays sample brands or placeholder scores.
  5. Open Reports to access the private read-only share link for each persisted audit.

Troubleshooting

I cannot run a live audit

Open Providers in the private admin area. If the API connection is missing, add AIHUBMIX_API_KEY as a Cloudflare Secret and redeploy the Worker.

The audit history is empty

New accounts normally start empty. If completed audits are not being saved, confirm the D1 database binding and migrations are active.

A provider query failed

SignalLens shows provider errors separately. Failed calls are excluded from the visibility score rather than incorrectly counted as zero brand visibility.

The verification email did not arrive

Use the resend form, wait for the cooldown to finish, and check spam or promotions. Verification links expire after 30 minutes.

The free trial has been used

The result remains saved in the private workspace. Choose a one-off audit or recurring monitoring plan to run another benchmark.
